Entering the MTC - September 25, 2019

The next day, after being set apart as a missionary the evening before, Sister Copeland and her family made the short drive to Provo where she would be attending the Missionary Training Center for three weeks.  Prior to going in, her family stopped off for a special lunch together.

Then, they stopped off at the Provo Temple to take a few family pictures.

Soon, it was time to go to the drop off zone at the Missionary Training Center and for everyone to say their last good-byes for eighteen months.  This is always a very emotional time.

And she's off--although she won't see her family or friends for eighteen months, may only e-mail  home and call once a week, we all know this is one of the most growing times in a young woman's life.  By serving the Lord and her fellowmen, which she will do the next eighteen months, she will grow and become the person that the Lord wants her to be.  We all will miss seeing her beautiful smile and fun personality that just lights up the room when she's there!

Inside the MTC, Sister Copeland had a large group of friends waiting to greet her and who were so excited to see her!

Sister Copeland--who can now wear her missionary tag with pride!

We wish Sister Copeland the best on this eighteen-month mission!  The people in Jacksonville, Florida, are getting a wonderful young woman who loves the Lord and is dedicated to helping those around her in any way she can.   We will continually pray for her in all she does in this worthy work.

Setting Apart as a Missionary - September 24, 2019

Sister Copeland was officially set apart as a missionary by President Alan Taylor, Stake President of the Alpine, Utah, Stake.  This is the priesthood ordinance of giving authority to members called to labor in specific responsibilities.  It is done by those having the proper priesthood authority and by the laying on of hands.  She was given a beautiful blessing and many promises were made if she would devote these next eighteen months to the Lord and be obedient in all her responsibilities.

President Alan Taylor
Special family and friends came for the Setting Apart and to say good-bye.
